The greatest event of the Christmas Season at Southside Baptist Church is without a doubt the Teen Christmas Party! This year the SBC teens celebrated Christmas at the Schenck’s house for a delightful evening full of ping-pong, wii, and laughter.
It was a blast watching the teens on their knees around the ping-pong table, ready to pass out from laughing hysterically and blowing at the ping-pong ball all at the same time (the girls beat the boys). It was a joy to see our group of Christian young people enjoying each other’s fellowship. The highlight of the evening was the Chinese gift exchange – the wildest gift exchange ever! All forty-six of our teenagers squeezed themselves into the largest room in our house to begin the fun.
The evening ended with a challenging message by Bro. Charlie entitled, “Born with a Purpose”. He encouraged the teens to seek and find the one purpose they were born on this earth as Christ was born to die on the cross. He finished by equipping them to die to self as Christ did by saying “Father not my will but thine be done”.
